Optometry Receptionist

Optometry receptionist will interface with patients and doctors, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, check in patients, collect co-pay, obtain insurance authorizations and perform other duties as assigned.


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 1 year in a medical/optometry setting preferred
  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: None
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Bilingual English/Spanish, demonstrating the ability to communicate at level 9 on the ALTA language proficiency scale. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Possesses experience with managing patient flow, including check-in and out. Must possess ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions. Willingness to cross-train and help as needed. Possess a pleasant, courteous telephone manner. Knowledge of medical billing / vision insurance required with the ability to obtain proper insurance authorizations. Basic computer skills and knowledge required.
